Klosterheden Forest | Visitnordvestjylland

Klosterheden Forest

Klosterheden covers an area of around 6400 hectares and is one of the largest woodland areas in Denmark. The Klosterheden forest is managed by the Danish Nature Agency, Western Jutland.

You and your family have an opportunity to explore nature, see beavers and red deer etc.

Keep fit in nature

In the Klosterheden forest, you can hike one of the 17 marked routes that are both scenic and exciting. Red posts mark the routes. Make sure you wear sensible footwear. Nearly all routes follow narrow paths through undergrowth across moors and meadows.

You can also enjoy the countryside on bicycle. You have the option to ride at a steady pace or exercise at greater speeds on a mountain bike. If you feel the need for speed and excitement, a 50-kilometre mountain bike route has been laid out. Remember to make room for other people in the woods.

The dog woods

The Klosterheden forest also has room for the four-legged member of the family – the dog! In the dog woods, the dog is allowed to roam freely.
